Project: Blue Snakeskin X Albino Blue Topaz

I recently started a project for my Blue Snakeskin X Albino Blue Topaz. My aim was to build an Albino Blue Snakeskin. A few days ago the female blue topaz drop 24 fry and it's a mixed of albino and regular one's. They are fun to watch reminding me of a song Ebony and Ivory.

I'm waiting for them to mature to see what would be the outcome.

Updated Fish Room as of March 2011

I just finished my 2 pine wood rack for my new tanks that arrived last weekend. I also finalized the setting of my tanks. The rack is now up and running with tanks and fish. I now have 40 tanks and 7 plastic tubs for grow out. I still have all my heater plugged in as of the moment. I'm still debating on insulating the basement/stockroom converted to fish room with new floor heater and checking also if it's gonna be same expense just using the heaters on each tank.

As promised I was able to finish it late last night. Now my next project is 2"4" 3 layer rack for my 55 gallon, 4x10 gallon and 5x5.5 gallon tanks.

DIY 2x3 Pine Wood Rack for 9x10 Gallon Tank

I was planning to get rid of my tv cabinet I used for some of my 10g before and created my own 2x3 pine wood rack. Here's the picture of the tv cabinet last year I know this one is really not safe.



Then I decided instead of getting another gorilla metal rack which will not fit in my small fish room. I decided let me just make my own rack using a 2x3 pine wood which can hold 9x10 gallon tank and I can easily sneak into one small empty space beside my gorilla metal rack.

Here's the details:

Rack for 9x10 gallons using 2'x3'

Materials Needed:
1	4 x 48" 2x3 pine wood
2	6 x 36" 2x3 pinewood
3	6 x 21" 2x3 pinewood
4	3 x 17" 2x3 pinewood
5	24 x 4" nuts and bolts
6	12 x 4" wood screw

I'll update this DIY with the final result once I finished the rack this week I already did the bottom part last night but my drill run out of battery and I don't have any spare.

New Strain Created "Albino Fire Tail"

I just got a new strain from my Albino Blue Topaz I named it "Albino Fire Tail". This has a nice big red cauadal delta tail and a long white dorsal fin. I'm planning to create one which will have both the dorsal and the caudal to be red. If it doesn't work with a blue topaz I might try it with Full Red Thai of Stan Shubel or an Albino Full Red. Let see!

Blue Delta 2 Weeks Old Fry

As promised here's a small video clip of my Blue Delta 2 weeks old fry. I got like 60+ from just big preggy female I just acquired from a NEFGA friend. The tail of the fry are starting to color up already and maybe in a few week I might sexed them to my other 20 gallon tank.

This are my remaining F1 Blue Delta I got from AB and I got one plain female from a NEFGA friend. Frank game this huge preggy female that looks like a tadpole after a week I got like 65+ fry and now 2 weeks old. I'll post their video on this blog they are now starting to show color on the caudal in just 2 weeks. I lost my original breeder from this blue delta and I'm hoping I can build this guys again one of the female is preggy already.

The 65+ fry from Frank are show guppy type I saw the breeders from his fish room and it looks promising so big blue delta tail and thick caudal body.

RREA Blue Topaz

This is one of the beautiful guppies I have in my fish room. They are my hardy one, survive my last disaster in my room and now doing good. Got a nice few drops from them and might be releasing some this coming Spring. They also drop albino with red delta caudal tail and white dorsal. I gave them my own strain name "Albino Fire Tail" I'll be posting video of them in coming days.

Stress Relief Medicine

Just wanna share with you guys my stress relief medicine it's been working for me. I've been using it for 2 weeks now.

After surviving a nasty power outage last x'mas blizzard. I have selected my new batch of breeder for my Russian Red Lace for 2011. I think I have like 5 males and 6 females in the tank all 2.5 months old. I hope they give new batch of healthy fry.

I'm planning to do selective breeding on this guys trying to avoid the black spot on the body. Some of my males have big and small black spot and I'm not sure if it will go away once it matures.
